DUMBO Defense
*UPDATED*

Search Keyword : DUMBO

Formerly "ELEPHANT", tweaked & updated to it's new name "DUMBO". It's a hybrid front, match coverage scheme, playing a lot of the same coverages (Match 3/Cover 6) but rotating them through tons of different looks. Crafted to be more of an end-game defensive scheme, aimed for those talent-laden rosters, that would benefit from the multiplicity of looks, and depth chart utilization to work in more snaps for a wider variety of players. Emphasis on keeping a good rotation throughout the defensive line. The name has multiple meanings, originally Elephant was a nod to the Crimson Tide (Cover 7 inspired defense, obviously), while also alluding to the prominent use of 3NT fronts (Elephant fronts) to stifle the run game. Later iterations have included a lot of small gameplanning tweaks to sure up the playcalling, as it aims to have an answer for anything & everything the offense throws at it.
