Formerly "ELEPHANT", tweaked & updated to it's new name "DUMBO". It's a hybrid front, match coverage scheme, heavily inspired by Nick Saban's Cover 7 system he ran with his Alabama Crimson Tide defenses. Crafted to be more of an end-game defensive scheme, aimed for those talent-laden rosters, that would benefit from the multiplicity of looks in terms of playing time/rotations. The name has multiple meanings, originally Elephant was a nod to the Crimson Tide, while also alluding to the use of 3NT fronts (Elephant fronts) to stifle the run game. Later iterations have included a lot of small gameplanning tweaks to sure up the playcalling, as it aims to have an answer for anything & everything the offense throws at it.
